Hawks Fall to Endicott in Close Game

NEW PALTZ, NY- The SUNY New Paltz field hockey team fell to the visiting Gulls from Endicott 1-0 Saturday afternoon on the Turf Field.  The Hawks have lost five straight games by one goal, three of which have been in the overtime session.

Endicott scored the game winner in the 66th minute when Megan McBride found the back of the cage for her third goal of the season.

The Hawks outshot the Gulls 4-1 in the first half and 10-4 for the game.  They also held a 8-1 penalty corner advantage in the first half and 11-3 for the game.

Taylor Teixeira made five saves for her fourth shutout of the year.  Endicott improves to 8-6 overall.

Elizabeth Dini made one stop in goal as the Hawks fall to 4-8 overall.  New Paltz returns to the field Wednesday against cross town rival Vassar College at 4:30 p.m. on the Turf Field.
