POUGHKEEPSIE, NY- The visiting Hawks from New Paltz handed the Brewers of Vassar their first loss of the season in women’s volleyball Wednesday night in Kenyon Hall. The Hawks defeated the Brewers in four games by the scores of 25-19, 28-30, 27-25, 25-17.
Brittany Coyle led the Hawks with 11 kills and six blocks and Alison Kiernan chipped in with ten kills on the evening. Stephanie Bova handed out 43 assists and Loren Crabbe had 25 digs. “We beat a really good team tonight. Both teams battled point for point and we were able to put a couple of runs together to pull away” stated head coach Matt Giufre.
The Hawks improve to 10-4 on the season and begin SUNYAC Pool Play this weekend in Oneonta.
