Hawks Fall to Williams on Late Goal

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA- The SUNY New Paltz men’s soccer team fell to Williams College, 1-0 at Cole Field on the campus of Williams College.  In the first ever meeting between Williams and New Paltz, the Ephs edged out the Hawks with a goal with 25 seconds remaining.

In the 90th minute, the Ephs Ben Mackinnon found Connor Smith for the game winning goal. 

Andrew Lyons-Berg recorded the win in net, saving one shot.  Williams picks up their first win on the season and improves to 1-0-1.

Peter Carmel (Ronkonkoma/The Stony Brook School) recorded the loss in net, saving six shots.  The Hawks are defeated for the first time this year and fall to 4-1-1 overall.

The Hawks return to the field Saturday, as they open conference play against Oneonta on the Red Dragon Soccer Field on the campus of Oneonta.  Game time is set for 1 p.m.
