NEW PALTZ, NY- SUNY New Paltz head softball coach Kristina Katori has announced her resignation after three seasons to return to Colby College in Waterville, Maine to become the head coach of softball and assistant women’s volleyball coach.
In three seasons as head coach for the Hawks, Katori compiled a 61-58 overall record, including a 32-30 record in the State University of New York Athletic Conference. Coach Katori and her team set records in 2008 in overall wins in a season (25) and conference wins (13). Also in 2008, the Hawks made the SUNYAC playoffs for the first time in nine years. In 2008, she coached the program’s first ever All-American.
A national search for Katori’s successor will begin immediately.
