NEW PALTZ, NY- The SUNY New Paltz women’s volleyball team received recognition from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) for their excellence in the classroom for the 2008-2009 academic school year. The Hawks earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for having an overall GPA of 3.33 for the calendar year.
The Hawks were the only SUNYAC school awarded the recognition. Kelsey Garmendia, Lauren Hogue, Alison Kiernan, Stephanie Bova, Nicole Mercadante, Kelcey Noble and Samantha Prudente earned SUNY New Paltz Dean’s List in the fall. Tara Annunziata, Garmendia, Hogue, Amanda Kopp, Kiernan, Noble and Stephanie Skrobach all earned Dean’s List in the spring.
Stephanie Bova, Kelsey Garmendia, Lauren Hogue, Alison Kiernan, Nicole Mercadante, Kelcey Noble and Samantha Prudente all earned SUNYAC All-Academic Team. Hogue, Kiernan and Prudente in addition earned Commisssioner’s List for the Fall of 2008.
