New Paltz Swimming to Make Splash at SUNYAC Championships
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) will host its men’s and women’s swimming and diving championship meet at the Burt Flickinger Aquatic Center on the campus of Erie Community College in downtown Buffalo this week.
SUNY New Paltz will be among the nine teams competing for the conference title. The meet begins with diving on Wednesday afternoon and continues through Saturday. Swimming prelims will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings beginning at 10 a.m. and the finals will be each evening at 6 p.m.

Tickets are available at the door for $5 per session.
Last season, the New Paltz women finished second at championships, while the men took fourth. The women totaled 607 points to finish behind Geneseo’s 801 points. The New Paltz men finished with 472 points and were edged out of third place by two points, as Oswego posted 474 points. Geneseo won the team title with 892.5 points and Cortland finished second with 683.5 points.
