Hawks Sweep Panthers

The men’s volleyball team traveled to SUNY Purchase Monday night for a metro-division match and swept the Panthers 3-0 (30-13, 30-24, 30-22). The Hawks improve to 7-4 on the season and remain undefeated in the NECVA metro-division at 3-0.

First year Kevin Stross (Port Washington/Schreiber) hit .769 on the night with a match-high 10 kills and four service aces. Senior Ryan Huberty (Liverpool) tallied 10 kills and junior Dan Liberto (Rush/Rush Henrietta) totaled a match-high nine digs. Mark Blair (Point Pleasant, NJ) and Jake Moore (Cortlandt Manor/Hendrick Hudson) each finished with eight kills and first year Frank Ciccone (Long Beach) dished out 23 assits.

The Hawks hit .493 on the night with 10 aces, while Purchase hit -.039 and committed 15 blocking errors.

New Paltz will return to action on Wednesday February 11 when they host York at 7pm.
