On Wednesday October 22, we took a few moments to honor two Hawks seniors as they played in their final regular season home match.
Over the past four years, these two ladies have compiled a current record of 103 wins and 42 losses for a winning percentage of 71, with three SUNYAC and two ECAC Tournament appearances.
Between the two of them they have totalled 503 kills, 119 service aces, and 3,136 digs in a New Paltz uniform.
MERCADANTE – Our first senior is a Sociology and Human Services major and hails from Baldwinsville, NY. She has totalled 1,464 digs in 329 games, recently moving her to second on the all-time career dig chart. In 2007, she was a second team all-conference selection and she set her career and season high game total of 44 digs in 2006 against Skidmore. #4 Nicole Mercadante.
PRUDENTE – Our second senior is a elementary education major. In four seasons as a Hawk, she has recorded 485 kills, 836 digs, and 64 service aces. The 2007 second team all-sunyac player set a career and season high of 14 kills against Messiah in 2007 and had a career high 23 digs against Potsdam in 2006. Captain, #9 Samantha Prudente.
