New Paltz women’s volleyball finishes the Skidmore Tournament with two wins

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY- The SUNY New Paltz women’s volleyball team finished the Skidmore Tournament with a 3-1 record. The Hawks went 2-0 on the final day with a four set victory over Ramapo 25-13, 25-12, 21-25, 25-18.

Stephanie Bova led the Hawks with 42 assists and 13 digs. Brittany Coyle led the Hawks with 12 kills and five blocks and Melinda DiGiovanna chipped in with ten kills.

In the last match of the tournament, the Hawks defeated Union College in straight sets, 25-19, 25-19, 25-20. Bova led the Hawks with 33 assists and nine digs. Samantha Prudente added 11 kills and 14 digs and Nicole Mercadante added eight digs. Coyle and Dana Kindelmann each had three blocks to help the Hawks to victory.

The Hawks improve to 25-7 overall. The Hawks return to the court Friday October 31 in the Vassar College Invitation.
