New Paltz men’s soccer falls 1-0 to Oswego

OSWEGO, NY- The SUNY New Paltz men’s soccer team played host Oswego and fell to the Lakers 1-0, Saturday afternoon on a rainy day.

The Hawks Anton Shipman (Howard Beach, NY/Molloy) ripped a shot, but the Lakers goalkeeper made a great save. James Altadonna (Massapequa Park, NY/Massapequa) ripped a shot and once again the Lakers goalkeeper made a great save.

With minutes remaining, Tommy Garafola (Richmond Hill, NY/St. Francis Prep) had a chance to tie the contest and force overtime, but his shot went just wide of the goal.

Peter Carmel (Lake Ronkonkoma, NY/Stony Brook) recorded the loss in net and the Hawks fall to 6-8-3 overall and 3-6-1 in SUNYAC competition.

The Hawks return to the field Wednesday October 29 against cross town rival Vassar College at 3 pm. The game will be played on Alumni Field on the SUNY New Paltz campus. The game will also be senior day for the Hawks.
