Brockport cruises over New Paltz men’s soccer

BROCKPORT, NY- The SUNY New Paltz men’s soccer team fell to host Brockport by the score of 6-2 Saturday afternoon.

Brockport scored five goals in the first half for the 5-0 lead at the half. Brockport then scored just two minutes into the second half for a 6-0 lead.

The Hawks first goal came in the 53rd minute from Sean Reminick (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) off a rebound shot by Lucas Natel (Mineola, NY/Mineola) to make the game 6-1.

Less than four minutes later in the 57th minute when Robert Mendes (Mineola, NY/The Wheatley School) headed the ball in off a corner that was unassisted.

Patrick Carlucci (Goshen, NY/Goshen) tallied eight saves in the game and allowed six goals in 45 minutes of play for the loss. Peter Carmel (Lake Ronkonkoma, NY/Stony Brook) played 45 minutes. SUNY New Paltz falls to 4-6-2 overall and 1-4 in SUNYAC competition.

Kyle Sauln tallied seven saves in net for the win. Brockport improves to 5-4 overall and 3-2 in SUNYAC competition.
