Men’s Volleyball Sweeps NJCU and Emmanuel 3-0

NEW PALTZ, NY — The men’s volleyball team hosted New Jersey City University and Emmanuel this afternoon in a tri-match.
The Hawks faced NJCU at 12 nooon and swept the Gothic Knights 3-0 (30-18, 30-23, 30-24). Sophomore Alex Jackson hit a .312 on 13 kills and registered five digs, a solo block and two block assists. Junior Ryan Huberty finished with nine kills, six digs while Daniel Liberto tallied eight kills. Sophomore Stephen Pendleton handed out 39 assists, two solo blocks and three block assists. Senior Pedro Medina collected 22 digs.
New Paltz won their fourth consecutive match with a 3-0 sweep of Emmanuel (30-13, 30-25, 30-26). Huberty finished with 11 kills on 18 attempts and one error for a hitting percentage of .556%. Jackson registered 10 kills and Liberto added seven kills. Pendleton dished out 32 helpers and Medina totaled 18 digs. The Hawks hit .225 as a team while Emmanuel hit .074.
New Paltz advances to 5-14 on the season and will host Stevens Tech on Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
