Men’s Basketball Falls to Baurch 71-53

NEW PALTZ, NY — The men’s basketball team hosted Baruch tonight and fell to the Bearcats 71-53. Kyle Nelson led the Hawks with 15 points and Brian Kuar finished with a career high 13 points and nine rebounds. Matt Hauser added eight points.
The Hawks took an early lead and were up by seven at 15-8 with 11:08 left in the half. The Bearcats used the next seven minutes to go on an 18-3 run to go up by six en route to the 29-25 half time score. Baruch led by 14 in the second half before the Hawks cut the lead to eight on a layup by Nelson, but that is as close as they would come as the Bearcats held a double digit lead the rest of the way.
The Hawks return to action next weekend when they travel to Plattsburgh on Friday at 8:00 and Potsdam on Saturday at 4:00.
