NEW PALTZ, NY — Four SUNY New Paltz student-athletes have been nominated for the 2008 NCAA National Student-Athlete Development Conference. The Athletic Department has nominated Marissa Costello (Field Hockey), Stephen Cozzolongo (Men’s Swimming), Mike Fink (Men’s Volleyball) and Dana Lim (Women’s Tennis). Nominees must be returning to campus for the 2008-09 academic year, participated in a NCAA-sponsored sport during the 2007-08 year, and be in good academic standing. Only one student-athlete will be chosen to attend and the selection committee will be making their decision at the end of March.
The conference provides NCAA student-athletes with a forum to openly discuss issues that may affect them on their campuses and in their communities, while also providing them with the opportunity to enhance their leadership, communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills. The 2008 event will take place May 25-29 in Orlando, Florida at the Walt Disney World Resort.
