Women’s Basketball Wins Sixth Straight

MORRISVILLE, NY — The women’s basketball team extended their win streak to six with an 83-36 victory over Morrisville this afternoon. First year Artie Williams scored a career high 20 points in 14 minutes of play and sophomore Nicole Sarcone finished with 10 points and five steals.
The Hawks led 50-24 at the half and held the Mustangs to 12 second half points, setting a school record for fewest allowed points in a half. "We take pride in our defense and really focused on that part of our game in the second half," said New Paltz assistant coach Ben Lombard. "Our goal was to get stops and the each player contributed to our success."
New Paltz advances to 8-3 overall and 3-1 in the conference and returns to action on Friday January 18th when they host the Fredonia Blue Devils at 6:00 pm.
