Women’s Volleyball Falls Short to Vassar 3-2

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — The women’s volleyball team traveled across the Hudson Bridge tonight and fell short to Vassar 3-2. After losing the first two games to the Brewers 28-30 and 24-30, the Hawks rallied back to claim games three and four 30-19 and 30-28, respectively. The fifth game was a battle to the end until Vassar prevailed 16-14. Junior Amanda Brown paced the attack with 12 kills, Nicole Mercadante had 40 digs and Katie Becofsky finished with 40 assists.
New Paltz falls to 15-4 on the season and returns to action this weekend when they travel to Maryland for the Salisbury Tournament.
