DANBURY, CT — Freshman forward Sarah Schloss (Brant Lake, NY) scored the game’s only goal as SUNY New Paltz held on to defeat Western Connecticut State University in field hockey action Wednesday afternoon. Schloss collected a pass from Megan Flynn (Massapequa, NY) on the left side of the goal in the 26th minute of play and deposited into the back of the goal. The Hawks’ defense, led by freshman keeper Elizabeth Dini (Sayville, NY) who made six save, shut down the Colonials offense. New Paltz (1-3) hosts Brockport on Saturday, September 15 at 1 p.m.
