Field Hockey Falls to Geneseo, 4-2

GENESEO, NY — The women’s field hockey team traveled to Geneseo for a conference match-up and fell to the Knights 4-2. The Hawks fall to 2-5 on the season and 1-2 in SUNYAC play. Geneseo struck first in the third minute of play, but New Paltz evened the score at 6:06 off a penalty corner when Kristen Donnelly fired a shot into the back of the cage on a cross from Jess Moore. The Hawks took a 2-1 lead at 11:57 when Sarah Schloss found Jess Moore open in front of cage. Geneseo was quick to answer back in the 14th minute on a corner and took the lead for good in the 24th minute. The Knights completed the scoring at 40:52. First year Grace Watson took the loss in nets as she made six saves in 64:25 minutes of play. New Paltz will host Union on Tuesday at 4:00 pm.
