NEW PALTZ, NY — New Paltz senior Franchesca Rodriguez (Schenectady, NY/Guilderland) led the Hawks to their first-ever SUNYAC East Division title with a 4-1 weekend record at the SUNYAC East Pool Play and has been named the SUNYAC Volleyball Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 22. Rodriguez led New Platz to wins over Potsdam, Oneonta and Plattsburgh as the Hawks finished with a 9-1 SUNYAC record to earn the top seed in the East.Rodriguez had 49 kills including 26 against Cortland, 34 digs and six assists in 14 games. She recorded 15 digs in the victory over Potsdam and finished the weekend with a .357 hitting percentage.
