Hawks Score 3-0 Win on Senior Night

NEW PALTZ, NY — The SUNY New Paltz Hawks hosted the Eastern Connecticut Warriors Wednesday night and posted their 10th home game win with a 3-0 showing (30-22, 30-26, 30-17). Senior Kim Clouston (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) led SUNY New Paltz with 11 kills and a .458 attack percentage. The match was also the final regular season home appearance for Clouston and three other seniors.

Joining Clouston in their final home matches were Jennifer Hembury (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central), Kate Roche (Patchogue, NY/Patchogue-Medford) and Franchesca Rodriguez (Schenectady, NY/Guilderland).

Rodriguez finished with nine kills and two blocks, while Roche tallied seven kills and six blocks. Hembury recorded one service ace on 12 service attempts.

First year Brittany Coyle (Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley) added eight kills for the Hawks and Nicole Mercandante (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) collected 14 digs. Junior Katie Becofsky (Altamont, NY/Schalmont) dished out 36 assists as the Hawks advanced to 24-8 overall on the season.

SUNY New Paltz will return to action on Saturday October 28th when they travel to Stevens Institute of Technology.
