Hawks Fall to Knights 1-0

CORTLAND, NY — The SUNY New Paltz Hawks field hockey team travelled to Cortland Thursday afternoon to take on the Geneseo Knights in a makeup SUNYAC contest. The Hawks fell by a 1-0 decision and drop to 6-11 overall and finish 1-4 in SUNYAC play.

The Knights broke the tie with 4:12 remaining in the game as senior Laura Henson took a pass from Sarah Doster to send the ball into the right side of the cage. The Hawks were out shot 18-3 and Geneseo held an 8-5 corner advantage. Senior Nicole Kovac posted 12 saves in net for the Hawks in the losing effort.

SUNY New Paltz returns to action on Saturday October 28th for their final regular season game when they host William Paterson at 12:00 pm at the Sports Dome in Milton, NY.
