SUNY New Paltz Women’s Soccer Takes Loss at Plattsburgh

PLATTSBURGH, NY — This afternoon the SUNY New Paltz women’s soccer team split their conference weekend with a 1-0 loss to Plattsburgh.

Just past the nine minute mark, senior midfielder Elyse Lafountain (Mooers Forks, NY) played a pass from senior forward Gena Rosenbaum (Morrisonville, NY) to the back of the net to provide Plattsburgh (4-4, 1-3) with a 1-0 lead.

The Cardinal defense held of SUNY New Paltz (4-2-1, 2-2) for the remainder of the afternoon. Freshman goalkeeper Kathryn Lind (Garden City, NY) recorded four saves and the shutout. Hawk freshman goalkeeper Sarah Boccard (Washingtonville) totaled eight saves in the loss. Freshman midfielder Jennifer Anslemi (North Rockland, NY) led the Hawks offense with threes shots on goal.
