SUNY New Paltz Men’s Basketball Team Suffers Loss to Fredonia
FREDONIA, NY — The SUNY New Paltz men’s basketball team lost 95-77 to conference rival Fredonia this evening.
Tonight was a night of career numbers for the Hawks. Sophomore forward John Hauser (East Williston, NY) led the way for the Hawks (3-3, 1-1) with a career high 25 points. Junior guard Keith Crichlow (Central Islip) finished with 15 points and a career high five assists and freshman forward Stephon Cherry (Bronx, NY) added 15 points and set career highs in blocks with four and rebounds with 12, eight offensively.
All that offense was not enough to keep up with the Blue Devils. Fredonia (2-3, 1-1) enjoyed an offensive explosion of their own. Sophomore guard Taha Alassari (Amherst, NY) led the Blue Devils with 36 points and 11 rebounds as Fredonia ended the night with an 18-point victory.
