Brockport Stops SUNY New Paltz Men’s Soccer Team 4-0

NEW PALTZ, NY — The SUNY New Paltz men’s soccer team lost 4-0 on a slippery field to SUNY Brockport this afternoon.

Brockport (7-2-1, 3-1-1) got the ball rolling and took a 2-0 lead in the opening half. Golden Eagle junior midfielder Rory Charcholla (Bergen, NY) lobbed a pass over the Hawks defense and found senior forward Anthony Jaworski (Long Island, NY), on the opposite side of the box, who headed the ball to the back of the net. Seven minutes later, junior forward Mike Abgarian (Long Island, NY) broke through the SUNY New Paltz defense and slipped one past sophomore goalie Jake Lammers (Highland, NY).

Brockport continued to control the action in the second half. The Golden Eagles would score again at 72-minute mark when junior defenseman Greg Dini (Long Island, NY) added to the lead with his eighth goal on the year. Dini would later assist on the final Brockport goal when he combined with freshman forward Joe Asmussen (Niskayuna, NY) to give the Golden Eagles a 4-0 lead.

Freshman goalie Shaun Emewein (Albion, NY) made six saves on the afternoon and recorded his sixth shutout on the year for Brockport.
