Hawks Sweep Oneonta in SUNY New Paltz Invitational
NEW PALTZ, NY — The SUNY New Paltz women’s volleyball team opened up the first day of the SUNY New Paltz Invitational with a 3-0 sweep of SUNYAC rival Oneonta this evening.
The Hawks, who were playing their first match since September 4, were paced by junior outside hitter Andrea Kaiser (Blue Point, NY) who had 12 kills and 10 digs. Junior middle blocker Christina Mazurowksi (Tonawanda, NY) added eight kills and four blocks and sophomore outside hitter Kim Clouston (Baldwinsville, NY) had seven kills and a .389 hitting percentage.
Freshman setter Katie Becofsky (Altamont, NY) dished out 31 assists to lead an offensive attack that hit .294.
SUNY New Paltz will play three matches tomorrow. The Hawks will face Mount Saint Mary at 10:00 a.m., Elmira at 12:00 p.m. and SUNY Farmingdale at 2:30 p.m.
