Fenton Holds Down the Fort for SUNY New Paltz Women’s Soccer

MAHWAH, NJ — The SUNY New Paltz women’s soccer team improved to 2-2 this afternoon by defeating Ramapo 1-0. The event was a make-up for yesterday’s, September 8, rainout.

Senior goalie Maggie Fenton (East Meadow, NY) made seven saves on sixteen Ramapo (2-2) shots to record her first shutout of the season.

Sophomore forward Kerri Kelty (Valley Stream, NY) made sure that Fenton’s goaltending was not in vain supplying the game winning goal in the 56th minute. The goal is the second for Kelty this season and her second game winning tally as well.

The SUNY New Paltz women’s soccer team will look to add another win this Saturday, September 11, at home against Russell Sage.
