Liz Delia Named Women’s Swimming MVP

NEW PALTZ, NY — Oswego native Liz Delia was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the SUNY New Paltz women’s swimming team at the school’s annual Athletic Awards Banquet on May 7th.

Delia, a freshman, made an immediate impact for the Hawks this winter. She was a first team All-State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) selection.

Delia claimed the conference title in the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:14.88 at the 2004 SUNYAC Championship. She was also a member of three relay teams that all placed third, including the 200-yard medley relay team that finished with a National B Cut qualifying time of 1:51.80.

Delia was also a member of the 200-yard medley relay team that captured the title at the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championship in December.

Delia, a business major at SUNY New Paltz, is a 2003 graduate of Oswego High School where she was a captain, team MVP, and first team all-league selection during her four years on the swimming team.
