Kelly Anderson Named Field Hockey MVP

NEW PALTZ, NY — Kingston resident Kelly Anderson was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the SUNY New Paltz field hockey team at the school’s annual Athletic Awards Banquet on May 7th.

Anderson, a senior defender and co-captain, was a leader of the defensive unit all season and chipped in on the offensive end with three points on a goal and an assist. She recorded all three points in the 4-1 victory over State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) rival Oswego State on October 18th.

Anderson was named to the All-SUNYAC Second Team for the second time in her career. She was also an all-league selection as a freshman forward in 2000.

Anderson, a sociology major at SUNY New Paltz, is a 2000 graduate of Kingston High School where she was a two-sport athlete in field hockey and basketball.
