NEW PALTZ — The State University of New York at New Paltz Center for Continuing and Professional Education will be offering a new non-credit course, titled “Introduction to Patents: How to Develop and Protect Your Ideas.”
This 30-hour, non-credit course is a thorough introduction to patents and other intellectual property, with an emphasis on providing participants with the tools they need to develop and patent their ideas. The course will be taught by Ralph Mitchell, engineer and patent agent, and will benefit anyone who wants to understand the process of getting an idea patented.
The course is offered through the Institute for Professional Development, one of several programs run by Continuing and Professional Education. The Institute customizes seminars and workshops for regional businesses and organizations, as well as periodically offering courses for professional development.
Participants have the choice of two sections offered: Saturdays, March 20-May 22, 9 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. (excluding Apr. 10) or Wednesdays, March 17-May 19, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The fee is $300.
