Men’s Volleyball Improves to 6-2 with Victory over Medgar Evers

BROOKLYN, NY — The SUNY New Paltz men’s volleyball team won their fourth consecutive match and improved to 6-2 overall with a 3-0 (30-24, 30-25, 30-25) victory over Medgar Evers College this evening.

The Hawks used a balanced offensive attack to defeat the Cougars. Junior Chris Ganje (Halfmoon, NY) recorded a team-high eight kills and three digs while senior Rob Dietrich (San Jose, CA) and junior Mike LaRocco (Hauppauge, NY) notched seven kills apiece.

Sophomore Kevin Buggs (Tonawanda, NY), the reigning Metro Division Player of the Week in the NECVA, set up the offense with 32 assists and chipped in with two of the team’s 14 block assists.

New Paltz has a week off before their next match. They will try to extend their winning streak to five when they travel to New York City to play Yeshiva University on Thursday, February 19th at 7:00 pm.
