Manhattanville Field Hockey Team Extends Winning Streak to Six With Win Over New Paltz

KINGSTON, NY — The Manhattanville field hockey team extended its winning streak to six in a row with a 7-2 win over SUNY New Paltz this afternoon at Dietz Stadium.

Senior forward Kristen Coffey (Pleasantville, NY) and sophomore midfielder Jessie Grasso (Maple Glen, PA) each scored two goals as Manhattanville improved its record to 7-5. Coffey, who also assisted on a goal, capped a five-point first half when she scored with 40 seconds remaining in the opening half to give the Valiants a 4-1.

Senior midfielder Lisa Taub (Greenlawn, NY) fired in two goals for New Paltz. Her first came with 7:50 remaining in the first half and trimmed Manhattanville’s lead to 2-1. Taub’s goal was the first scored against Manhattanville during their current six-game winning streak. The Valiants had last given up a goal on September 24 in a 2-1 overtime loss to Kean.
