Ackermann Named Softball MVP
NEW PALTZ, NY — Kristin Ackermann was named Most Valuable Player of the softball team at the SUNY New Paltz Athletic Banquet May 7th.
Ackermann, a senior pitcher, made 12 starts on the mound for the Hawks, and completed 10 games. She led the team in both innings pitched (66) and strikeouts (25). Ackermann pitched brilliantly in the Hawks’ first win of the season, a 5-4 triumph over conference rival Oswego. Ackermann pitched a complete-game seven-hitter and struck out three batters to earn the victory.
Softball ended the season 2-27 and 1-9 in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC).
