Hawks Make it Three Straight With Win at Kings Point

KINGS POINT, NY – — The SUNY New Paltz tennis team won its third straight match and improved to 3-2 on the year with a convincing 7-0 win over Kings Point this afternoon.

The Hawks posted straight set wins from the top three singles positions. Bobby Calise won a thrilling tie breaker 16-14 in the third game at number four singles for New Paltz.

Brian Palmenteri was a straight set winner at number five singles and Josh Greenspan recovered from a 5-6 loss in the first set to win the next two, 6-1, 6-0.

Kings Point dropped to 1-8 with the loss.

Doubles #1 Tiran/Breakstone (NP) defeated Hales/Stallings (KP) 8-6. #2 Finger/Calise (NP) defeated Tripp/Christopher Chan Chow (KP) 8-0. #3 Brian Palmenteri/Jason Letts (NP) defeated Sang Yi/Hannah Kim 8-2.
