LA VERNE, CA – — The SUNY New Paltz women’s basketball team dropped the second game of its two-game California road trip, falling 69-43 to La Verne this evening.
La Verne hit 70 percent (14-of-20) of its first half shots including a 5-of-6 effort from three-point range to build a 37-26 halftime advantage.
The Hawks struggled from the floor throughout the game and converted on only four their 23 attempts second half attempts. La Verne’s defense also forced 32 New Paltz turnovers.
Maura McShane led the Hawks in scoring for the second straight game. She finished with 12 points and four rebounds as New Paltz dropped its fifth in a row and fell to 3-6.
