New Paltz Drops Four at Bomber Invitational

ITHACA, NY — The SUNY New Paltz women’s volleyball team is still in search of their first win of the 2002 campaign following four matches in two days at the Bomber invitational Tournament hosted by Ithaca College.

On Friday night, the Hawks dropped a 3-0 decision to RIT (17-30, 25-30, 13-30) and suffered a 3-1 loss to Widener (24-30, 20-30, 30-27, 23-30).

This morning, SUNY New Paltz fell 3-0 to NYU (13-30, 21-30, 17-30) and Oneonta (14-30, 30-32, 20-30).

Jackie Goldstein (Port Jervis, NY) led the Hawks in kills for the weekend with 31.

Christina Butcher (North Salem, NY) paced New Paltz in digs with 60 followed by Andrea Kaiser’s (Blue Point, NY) 49. Butcher also contributed 35 assists, second only to Jennifer Hollis (Livingston, NJ) who ended the tournament with 40.
