Men’s Soccer Falls to Plattsburgh

NEW PALTZ — The visiting Cardinals of Plattsburgh used two second-half goals from senior Craig Hettinger (Wappingers Falls, NY) to come away with a 2-0 win Saturday. The victory keeps the Cards perfect at 7-0. New Paltz slips to 2-6.

After a scoreless first half, the Cards wasted little time getting on the board in the second as Hettinger buried a shot past a diving Kevin Smith (Niskayuna, NY) just after five minutes. Hettinger struck again just over sixteen minutes later on a header off of a free kick from Craig Carroll (Cobleskill, NY).

The Hawks and Cards ended the game even in shots at ten apiece. Jeff Adams (Baldwinsville, NY) made four saves for Plattsburgh while Kevin Smith made three for the Hawks.
