NEW PALTZ — As graduation approaches at the State University of New York at New Paltz, engineering students will have a chance to prove what they have learned when they present their senior design projects on May 10.
“The projects are considered important accomplishments of the students,” said Ghader Eftekhari, Computer and Electrical Engineering department chair and professor. “They use the knowledge gained in their courses to design their projects.”
The students have collected information, done initial design, tested and modified their design. They will present their findings, along with a comprehensive report.
Two examples of the upcoming presentations are in autonomous sumo robot (as in sumo wrestling) and design, simulation, and implementation of a Cyclic Redundancy Check mechanism for computer communications using modern engineering tools.
The presentations are free and open to the public. Feedback and comments are welcomed. The presentations will be held in Resnick Engineering Hall, Rooms 109 and 217 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For further information on the senior design presentations, contact Eftekhari at 257-2606.
