Men’s Tennis Blasts Bard

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON — The New Paltz men’s tennis team got back to its winning ways Wednesday with a 9-0 drumming of Bard College. The win ups the Hawks’ record to 8-6 on the year.

In singles, Ed Paulinski (Floral Park, NY) cruised against Saul Peterson 10-2, Brad Breakstone (Mount Kisco, NY) beat Chris Konker 10-5, Bobby Calise (East Islip, NY) got past Biek Satasut 10-7, Brian Palmenteri (Howard Beach, NY) beat Alexi Gambis 10-4, Josh Greenspan (North Babylon, NY) won 10-5 over Warren Leijssius, and Brandon Goodman (New Paltz, NY) disposed of Richard Saudek 10-2.

Doubles play was much the same for the Hawks as they took all three matches. Paulinski and Breakstone won easily 8-1, and Calise and Palmenteri won 8-4. Greenspan and Gar Cheung (Wappingers Falls, NY) had a more difficult time in their match but prevailed 8-7 (7-2).

The Hawks are back on the court Thursday at home as they take on the visiting Hartwick Hawks at 4:00pm.
