NEW PALTZ — The New Paltz men’s volleyball team got its season underway Tuesday night at Elting Gymnasium against the visiting Vassar Brewers. The Hawks opened the match winning game one 36-34 but were beaten in the next three 22-30, 28-30, 24- 30.
Jason Bateman (Brewerton, NY) led the Hawks with 16 kills and 5 blocks in the match. Beau Warren (Canandaigua, NY) had 15 kills and 10 digs and Sean Riley (Port Jefferson, NY) added 10 kills and 4 blocks.
Men’s volleyball next will travel to Springfield, MA on Saturday for a 6:00 match.
