Men and Women’s Swimming and Diving Lose to Coast Guard
NEW PALTZ — The men and women’s swimming and diving teams fell short on Wednesday night against visiting United States Coast Guard Academy. The men lost 113.5-91.5 and the women lost 117-88.
Senior Mark Otto (Sewell, NJ) led the way for the Hawks on the men’s side by winning two individual events. Otto claimed the 100-yd. freestyle with a time of 50.44 and the 200-yd. freestyle with a time of 1:51.98. Freshman Kent Yeung (Flushing, NY) captured the 200-yd. individual medley with a finishing time of 2:06.06 and Junior Jon Amoia (Williamsville, NY) was the winner in the 100-yd. breaststroke (1:03.18).
Two Hawks on the women’s side were able to claim victory in the meet. Junior Molly Soule (Clinton, NY) placed first in the 200-yd. freestyle (2:06.75) and Freshman Danielle Lindner (Wantagh, NY) was first in the 100-yd. backstroke.
