ORANGEBURG — The New Paltz Women’s Volleyball Team traveled to the Dominican College Tournament this weekend finishing 1-2. The Hawks were defeated by the host college in three straight games (27-30, 19-30, 21-30) and by St. Thomas Aquinas (20-30, 19-30, 20-30). Against Malloy, the Hawks rebounded to win a tight match in 5 games (30-18, 26-30, 30- 17, 26-30, 15-7).
Over the weekend, Crystal Smith (Westhampton, NY) and Gisselle Medina (Brentwood, NY) led the way for New Paltz. Smith finished with 32 kills, 47 digs and 3 aces and Medina finished with 4 kills, 47 assists, 3 aces, and 31 digs.
New Paltz next plays Tuesday at home at 7:00pm against Manhattanville.
