NEW PALTZ — The Women’s Soccer Team played a solid match against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Tuesday but was defeated by a 2-0 margin. The loss drops the Hawks’ record to 2-7 on the year.
RPI got goals from Susan Gonyea and Laura Feeney with 11:35 and 4:22 left in the second half. Both teams traded chances throughout the game but were unable to put the ball in the goal. The Engineers finished the game with a 15-6 edge in shots on goal. Goalkeeper Maggie Fenton (East Meadow, NY) made 13 stops for the Hawks.
New Paltz returns to SUNYAC play this weekend traveling to Buffalo St. on Friday and Fredonia on Saturday.
