SUNY Symphonic Band Presents Concert
NEW PALTZ — The Symphonic Band of SUNY New Paltz presents a concert on Tuesday, April 24, 2001 in the Julien J. Studley Theatre. The concert begins at 8:00 PM; tickets are available at the door one hour before the event.
Directed by Dr. William McCann, the Symphonic Band presents a richly varied program of music for the wind ensemble. Comprising fifty members, a blend of music and non-music majors, the Symphonic Band performs William Schuman’s Chester, Olympica, Festival Overture for Band, by Jan Van de Roost and others. The program features a brass quintet, which presents Robert Nagel’s arrangement This Old Man, written for two trumpets, French horn, euphonium, and tuba.
Tickets to the concert are available for purchase beginning at 7:00 PM at the door to the Julien J. Studley Theatre at the following prices: $5 for general admission, $4 for senior citizens and faculty/staff, and $3 for students.
