Women’s Basketball Team Splits Season Series With Geneseo

NEW PALTZ — Britni Bishop and Zebi Williams combined for 38 points, but SUNY New Paltz shot less than 36 percent as a team, in a close 70-62 loss to Geneseo on Friday night at Elting Gymnasium.

Williams also had 13 rebounds, to notch her seventh double-double of the season, and Melissa Gage added seven points off the bench for New Paltz (10-10 overall, 7-9 SUNYAC), which lost for the first time in its last three games. The victory was the 200th for Knights’ Head Coach Joe French.

New Paltz returns to action at 2 p.m. tomorrow with a key home SUNYAC matinee against Brockport.
