Ground Breaking Set for New Child Care Center at SUNY New Paltz

NEW PALTZ — A ground breaking ceremony for the construction of a new 6,000 square foot Child Care Center at SUNY New Paltz will take place on Tuesday, November 9. Former State Senator Charles Cook, who sponsored legislation that provided the construction funds for the Child Care project, will be on hand for the 1:00 p.m. ceremony. In addition to Cook, a dozen children from the current facility will assist in breaking the ground using their (more suitably sized) shovels.

The Child Care Center is licensed to care for children between the ages of two and four. Preference is given to children of students attending SUNY New Paltz, followed by children of employees, and then children from the community.

The ceremony will take place behind the Student Health Center, located on Southside Loop Road. Access Southside Loop road from either Route 32S or Route 208. Park in the Health Center parking lot.
