Men’s Swimming Opens Season Behind Powerful Coast Guard

NEW PALTZ — The SUNY New Paltz men’s swim team is in second place behind perennial power Coast Guard after day one of the two-day Long and Short Relays on Friday at the Elting Natatorium.

The Hawks placed second in three of the five events, including finishing 10 1/2 seconds off the Bears’ pace in the 3 x 200 yard Individual Medley Relay, the final event on day one.

The “short” portion of the 13th annual event begins tomorrow at 10 a.m.
