NEW PALTZ — The SUNY New Paltz women’s tennis team lost to a very strong Montclair State team, 9-0, on Tuesday at New Paltz.
Rebecca Billow and Jill Gaudet played long rallies at third and sixth singles, respectively, while the second and third doubles matches both went 11 games.
Jacklyn Bebe outlasted Gaudet (6-3, 6-3) at sixth singles, while Billow made it difficult on Susan Stabile (6-3, 6-4) at third singles. The team of Barbara Slovak and Billow extended Stabile and Tracey Saladino at second doubles (8-3) and Rebecca Kramer and Allison Schwille challenged Bebe and Caroline Hess in third doubles (8-3).
New Paltz is back in action at 4 p.m. tomorrow at Vassar College.
