Women’s Soccer Loses To Union

SCHENECTADY — SUNY New Paltz lost to unbeaten Union College, 7-0, in women’s soccer on Wednesday afternoon.

New Paltz (5-4-1) was held scoreless in its fourth straight game thanks to a Union defense that allowed just five Hawk shots on goal.

Katie Smith tallied a hat trick, including scoring the game-winner 9:18 into the game. Teammate Samantha Ryall added a goal and an assist for the (5-0-1) Dutchwomen, who had five different scorers.

Laura Neander made nine saves in the loss for the Hawks, who will look to get back on track at 4 p.m. on Friday at Fredonia.
