Norman Blashka Joins Business Advisory Council

NEW PALTZ — Norman Blashka, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Real Media, Inc., a global provider of internet advertising solutions, is the newest member of the Business Advisory Council of the SUNY New Paltz School of Business.

“As a New Paltz alumnus, I am especially pleased to join the Advisory Council and work with the dedicated group of business leaders on the council to provide real-world input and guidance to the continued development of the School of Business,” said Blashka.

The Business Advisory Council is comprised of business leaders who work proactively with faculty and staff to guarantee the quality business programs by providing insight based on their experience and knowledge of current business needs. With crucial input from the council, the School of Business enhances and broadens it programs for students and business people.

Blashka earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from SUNY New Paltz and an MBA from Columbia University’s School of Business. He has enjoyed a successful career as an entrepreneurial executive with extensive financial and operational management experience with a number of established media companies and start-ups in the internet, publishing, broadcasting, and cable television industries.

“Mr. Blashka’s experience as an entrepreneur with internet companies will be extremely helpful as a member of the Business Advisory Council,” said Taylor Thompson, chair of the council. “His expertise will be particularly helpful in our technology committee and with our new MBA concentration in information & knowledge management.”

The Business Advisory Council members represent a diverse spectrum of local and regional business leaders in banking, financial planning, industry, tourism, healthcare, computer technology and economic development.

“The Advisory Council helps us shape our programs to meet the needs of our students and the business community,” said Hadi Salavitabar, dean of the School of Business. “I am delighted to have Mr. Blashka as a member of the council and look forward to working with him.”
