Men’s Volleyball Claims Two Wins

NEW PALTZ, NY — The #14 ranked SUNY New Paltz men’s volleyball team traveled to Polytechnic Institute of Technology for a tri-match with Milwaukee. The Hawks faced #13 ranked Milwaukee in the first match and claimed a 3-2 come from behind victory. New Paltz lost the first two games 25-30 and 23-30 before fighting back for a game three, four and five victory (30-25, 30-16, 15-7). Senior Jeff Lee paced the attack with 20 kills on 32 attempts and Joshua Spiro finished with 10 kills. First year Christopher Holden collected 10 kills, Matt Weingarten dished out 43 assists and Pedro Medina tallied 11 digs.
In the second match of the day the Hawks sweept Polytechnic 3-0 (30-23, 30-28, 30-17). Sophomore Mark Blair led the attack with 17 kills and Jacob Moore finished with eight kills. First year Stephen Pendleton handed out 33 assists.
The Hawks return to action Sunday afternoon when they host Yeshiva at 2 p.m.
